Hello it's christine mcphee from chubby hi I just want your advice for she's actually 16 years 4 months old gracie blake and she had for 6 months so so diarrhea 4 to 5 times a day and more recently on and off some a little bit of blood in there so I did some blood tests and that showed some little bit of anemia and then she was very low in ferritin her ferritin was only 5 alright and then she feels quite fatigued she she is on on on a contraceptive pill so her periods are now okay but it's not been very long she's only been on that for a few months right and the other thing which we were or I was thinking of was because she was in tanzania in 6 months ago and she that's when when things were kind of started but but all her her stool samples came back normal so they looked for parasites and things mhmm and interestingly her dad he's actually a consultant orthopedic surgeon at torbay okay has exactly the same symptoms he's been investigated over the age of my childhood and had surgery colonoscopy and and and things nothing really been fine he still has the same symptoms at the moment not quite sure what you're probably I I did a finger protecting the sending in okay we have to try that back yeah no that that that's just it is just sending that that in I didn't do that in the initial test and then bobby referred them to you and she's repeat that was 1 of my questions I think that sounds really reasonable so 6 months of diarrhea how many times a day did did you say so 3 4 times a day mhmm okay and then recently blood yeah recently she has a bit of blood so on on there but it doesn't look like there's more sore on the outside I I think that could well be due to the yeah something local diarrhea to a busy local irritation so mhmm yeah and she's 16 years old and 3 months yeah 4 months yeah 4 months fine and you said no family history of inflammatory bowel disease no there's no no family history is she losing weight or anything like that no she hasn't lost weight she's quite fit she drinks very much so a lot of milk so so so she drinks about 3 or 4 pints of milk that's weird yeah which they recently stopped just to see if that maybe if she had an infection that caused a bit of blood test or I don't know so temporarily could certainly be do you have a hospital number or nhs number for her yeah her nhs number is 702702 810410 4818 4818 thank you I mean she needs to she probably does need to see us isn't she gracie yeah blake and we can we can talk to her a bit more about her symptoms and work out what's going on I think she should come to see us urgently shouldn't she if she's having diarrhea with blood yeah that would be entirely reasonable yeah okay have you made a referral to us yeah I do that now I just wasn't 100% sure because she's just over 16 if that still beats on her but I do a referral it's a good question I guess I I don't know the answer to that maybe I should ask my boss and make sure he's happy but if you do a referral that'd be really helpful and then we can either triage her to peds or or see her but it sounds as though it would fairly reasonable to see us in 1 of our transitional clinics okay thank you very much cool sounds good okay you bye for now bye thank you bye bye
