1. Follow up as planned

I am writing with the results of the samples taken at the time of your recent colonoscopy.

Reassuringly, there is no evidence of inflammation in the wall of your bowel, microscopic colitis, which is what we were performing this test to investigate.

This is obviously reassuring, however it does not help us in determining the underlying cause for your symptoms.

As I suggested at the time of clinic, there could be several things leading to your symptoms and I do hope you have had some improvement with the colesevelam I suggested and the medication changes.

We look forward to seeing you back in clinic as planned.

Summary of Results:
Colonoscopy June 2025: Macroscopically normal
Histology June 2025: 6 fragments of colonic mucosa with preserved overall architecture and regular inflammatory cell density. No evidence of inflammatory activity, metaplasia or granulomas. No pathological abnormality.
