Dear Mr Badman,

I am writing to follow up on the results of the ultrasound scan of your liver which you had performed in June.

We performed this scan in order to keep an eye on your liver as you are at risk of liver cancer with your metabolic liver disease. I am pleased to inform you that there is no evidence of anything sinister or worrying on this scan. The scan shows stable liver appearances with no hepatocellular carcinoma and no splenomegaly. Your liver is normal in size and outline, though it shows some changes consistent with your known metabolic liver condition. The biliary and vascular systems appear normal.

I will arrange another scan for you in 6 months' time to continue monitoring your liver health.
