Issues:
1. Recurrent gastroenterological symptoms in patient with known functional dyspepsia
- Patient presenting with same regurgitation symptoms as previous admissions
- Recent gastroenterology outpatient appointment on 26th September 2024
- Gastroenterology team planning further investigations including pH monitoring and motility studies
- Patient requesting IV antiemetics for symptom control

Background:
Mr Boling has established functional dyspepsia with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and episodes of regurgitation. Previous normal upper GI endoscopy and barium studies. History of IBS and previous C. difficile infection. Recent discharge on 25th September 2024 following similar presentation. Seen by gastroenterology team as outpatient on 26th September 2024 with planned further investigations.

Current presentation:
Patient returned with recurrent regurgitation symptoms. Requesting IV cyclizine for symptom control. No acute deterioration noted. Patient well known to gastroenterology services.

Impression:
Recurrent functional dyspepsia with gastro-oesophageal reflux in patient under active gastroenterology follow-up

Plan:
1. Symptomatic treatment with antiemetics as requested
2. Liaise with gastroenterology registrar for advice given established care pathway
3. Discharge home with existing gastroenterology follow-up arrangements
4. Await results of planned pH monitoring and motility studies
